Soda Side Table

Soda is a side table formed from a single piece of hand-blown glass, its round top flowing down into three generous petals that make up the base. It sits somewhere between furniture and sculpture, and it rarely goes unnoticed.

Yiannis Ghikas built the whole design around the way light moves through glass, even naming the piece after one of the material's core ingredients. The form was imagined upside down, as though caught in the moment of being blown.

Each table is shaped by hand by a small team of master glassmakers in Murano, so no two are ever quite the same. A hammered surface breaks up reflections and softens the transparency, giving the glass a raw, elemental depth, and several rich glass colours are available.

Placed beside a sofa, armchair or bed, Soda casts coloured shadows that shift with the daylight, adding a jewel-like accent to the room. It pairs beautifully with the larger Soda coffee table for a layered, collected look. Designed by Yiannis Ghikas for Miniforms.
