Mullit Chair

Who doesn't enjoy sinking into a soft, comfortable cushion? And why not carry that feeling over to a chair? Mullit began with exactly that question, and with a slightly mad idea: a cushion with legs.

Yonoh took the thought seriously. The result is a chair whose originality is immediately obvious and whose forms stay disarmingly simple. Its balance comes from the contrast between the generous volumes of the seat and back cushions and the visual lightness of the legs beneath them, an invitation to sit down and stay a while.

To reinforce the plump, cushioned effect, the upholstery is gently gathered and finished with a piped edge running along the border of each cushion, echoing the way a scatter cushion is made.

The versatility of the piece lies in the breadth of the textile offer and in the character of each base: tapered wooden legs like slender sticks, gold-finished metal rod legs with a hint of another era, and black epoxy metal tube legs reduced to their minimum expression. A five-arm swivel base, lacquered in any colour from the Sancal range, has recently joined them.
