Quill S Rug White

Quill S is the small feather in Nao Tamura's collection, sized for a bedside, a bathroom doorway or the gap beside a desk.

This one is made to order in a custom white. With the colour taken out entirely, the piece works purely as relief: the fine parallel lines of the feather's barbs are carved into the pile at varying heights, and the only thing describing the drawing is shadow.

It is hand tufted in virgin wool, dense enough to sit flat without a pad and soft enough to stand on barefoot.

Tamura designed the collection around wabi-sabi, the beauty of the modest and the imperfect. In white that idea is at its quietest.
