Flora Bloom 3 Rug

Flora Bloom 3 is the artist Santi Moix's flower caught at the point of opening, worked at the scale of a floor and cut to the outline of the bloom itself.

The petals are hand tufted in wool at varying pile heights, so the surface carves into ridges and hollows and the shadows do as much of the drawing as the colour does.

The palette runs from dusty pink through copper into rust, and it shifts as you move around the piece and the light crosses the pile at a different angle.

It is the third in a series in which Moix has been working through the lifecycle of a flower, each rug catching a different moment in it.
