Nami means wave in Japanese, and the name says it all. The base is made of bent wood, shaped by hand into a sinuous curve that makes a solid material look almost elastic.
Getting that curve right took many attempts. Sheets of different woods are pressed together at high temperature in a single bend, then held in shape for a full day, with the grain of each layer running in a set direction so the form stays stable for good.
This is the 220 x 115 cm rectangular version. The top can be wood, lacquered in Miniforms' color palette, marble, porcelain stoneware or the glossy Vetro Liquido glass, so the same base can read warm and natural or bold and graphic.
Nami also comes in longer rectangular sizes and as round tables from 130 to 150 cm. The family includes a coffee table, a desk and a bench. Designed by E-ggs.
