Wa Wa Floor Lamp

Wa Wa is a floor lamp with five slender, flexible arms branching from a slim stand, each one tipped with a small glass lens and a point of warm light. It reads like a bunch of luminous stems, graphic and architectural by day and quietly theatrical once switched on.

Every arm can be bent and angled by hand, so the lamp can be shaped to suit its spot, sending light across a wall, up towards the ceiling or into a corner. The lenses gather the light into soft pools, turning an empty wall into a composition of its own.

Like every Catellani & Smith piece it is made by hand in the workshop in Villa di Serio, near Bergamo, and it is available in nickel or untreated brass. A dimmer on the black cable moves it easily from crisp accent light to a gentle evening glow, and it remembers your last setting.

Tall and slender, Wa Wa takes up very little floor space, which makes it an easy sculptural addition beside a sofa, in a hallway or in the corner of a bedroom where a conventional lamp would feel heavy.
