Gold Moon Wall Lamp

Gold Moon is a wall and ceiling light made of six irregular discs, gathered into a loose cluster that feels closer to sculpture than to a conventional fitting. Part of Catellani & Smith's Luci d'Oro family, it takes the spirit of the well-known Gold Moon pendant and lays it gently against the wall or ceiling.

The idea is poetic and simple: a small group of moons caught mid-drift, each tilted at its own angle. Discs in two sizes are set out in an asymmetric composition, so the piece feels spontaneous and takes on its own character in every room it is placed in.

Each disc is shaped by hand in the brand's workshop in Villa di Serio, near Bergamo, with a dark outer shell and an inner face finished in gold coloured leaf. Tiny LED elements are tucked away among coils of copper at the heart of each disc, carried on a copper structure with brass details and neat black bases.

When lit, the light bounces off the textured gold surfaces and spills onto the wall in soft halos and shadows, a warm glow that suits a console, a bedhead or a dining banquette. It is dimmable, so it can shift from a statement piece in the evening to a quiet ambient presence late at night.
