Palla is Claudio Salocchi's radical take on the lounge chair. First shown at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 1969, it captures the creative energy of that decade and its search for new, freer ways to sit and relax.
Salocchi started from the volume of a sphere and broke it apart. The seat and its footstool fit together like two halves of the same form, so the armchair and the pouf read as one object or as two.
The load-bearing structure is wood, padded with polyurethane foam in different densities. This version swivels on a chrome base with a return mechanism, so it always settles back to its starting position.
The upholstery is fixed and wraps the whole piece. This one is covered in Brionne fabric, color 015, a textured grey weave.
Now part of the Acerbis Remasters collection, Palla is made in its original dimensions, with the comfort updated for today.
